why are ford 4.6 dohc timing chains different ?

my '95 Lincoln mark8 needs a timing chain kit. am looking for the best price and the newer '96 up dohc cobra 4.6 is cheaper. I thought these 32 valve cobra engines were all the same. can I use the newer timing kit even tho part numbers are different ? vin V is my engine.
