Is working out on a gym really necessary?

Seriously, they charge me 35 bucks a month to let me get in there and lift heavy stuff and look like a fool. I live on the countryside so I have a big forest to be in, with many rocks to lift and trees to climb and stuff in. The only bad thing is that i will look like a fool if somebody sees me there doing random sh*t. But its free and its just outside my door.
