Need Help Toyota Prius 2003 Clock Light Got Dim?

i am in a situation where my Toyota Prius 03 Clock light got so dim and its little visible in the night time when i turn on the head lights but i cant see anything in the day time... okay i was trying to put after market CD player in my car... i was trying to connect that so i took out the company fitted CD PLAYER and just touch the wires of new CD PLAYER with the harness which was coming from the radio so that player was working fine ... so i cut the harness of COMPANY FITTED CD PLAYER and connected that harness to the NEW CD PLAYER .. i connect every single wire with the same color and i plugged back in to the car with new CD PLAYER ... IT DDNT WORKED :(... then i reconnect the harness with COMPANY FITTED CD PLAYER and i plugged that in so it wsnt working either ... i noticed that 1 : My car's fuel gauge was flashing and it was showing ( which i filled an hour ago before opening the car dashboard ) and which got fixed later after 2 3 miles 2: My cars clock got dim. after that i rechecked my NEW CD PLAYER with lighter power lines it was working perfectly fine but when i touched the wires with car harness it was like trying to turn on but i guess the voltage got low because the clock is dim too ....the radio and cassette player is working fine without any problem.. so i got those two problems like i mentioned the first problem got fixed by it self but the second problem isnt fixed and i am so worried about that because my paycheck isn't that big that i can go to dealer and fix my car :( ... i know that i made a mistake but Help will be appreciated cause i am stucked right now ..........
