I recently bought a third-hand car and it has two chips (smaller than 5p pieces) on the front windscreen in the middle of the passenger's side (best place they could be as far as price goes). I just called my insurer and they said despite me having window repair cover they wont be able to help with chip repair as I told them my chip was there when i bought the car. If I call back at some point and ask again but say the chips appeared at some point since I bought the car will they have it written down now that they happened before and catch me out? Also would the fella that comes along to fill the chip be able to tell they're old? If it's not possible to get the chip repaired through my insurer is it worth getting a discounted price from somewhere else or is it better just to fill it myself? Thanks
