automatic park control? |
| Posted: 29 Mar 2012 06:09 AM PDT I know it might sound stupid, but what specifically in a 93 Ford Escort GT controls the shifter(auto) so that you have to have the ignition on and foot on the brake to take it out of park? I realized the other day that I can take it out of park without needing to turn on the ignition or push on the brake pedal. I also would like to know if this would have anything to do with my interior and dash lights not working. I remember with my last escort I had to remove a "general interior electrical" relay because of a battery drain and without that relay it wouldn't let me take it out of park, and the dome light didn't work. Seeing this escort has the complete opposite problem(with the exception of the lights), can the relay be my problem? or do I have something else wrong with it? |
