Best Gyms in Saint Louis for guys?

I'm trying to get in shape to try out for the police academy and I was wondering about the best gym to attend if your a guy in Saint Louis preferably in the north county region. I've been looking at gold's gym, club fitness and other gyms for group classes that would also help me lose weight and wouldn't be awkward to participate in because I'm a guy.
