I'm writing a story about a man who has temporary, partial blindness (it's crucial to the plot, because he needs to have a misunderstanding due to his loss of vision). Basically, I'm looking for a condition or any kind of surgery or procedure that would make someone lose most of their vision for a short time - say a few weeks or even a few months. They might be able to see shapes or bright lights, but everything is pretty cloudy and unclear. They even need to go around with eye patches or gauze wrapped around their head, things like that. Any suggestions? I'd like to do some research but I need some keywords to start. Thanks!
