It comes out of the same nozzle. How do we know that, when we push the button for premium, we are actually getting anything different? I am thinking that, when we push the button for premium, the only thing that might happen is that the price goes up by 20 cents per gallon. Relatively few people buy premium gasoline. If you look at the label on the regular button, you will see that it is worn out, from people pressing it so much, while the premium label is in good condition. Most automobiles do not require premium gasoline, and buying it is a waste of money. So, gas stations do not have an incentive (or a need) to keep much premium gasoline on hand. So, again, since it all comes out of the same nozzle, how do we know that we are getting anything different. Does pushing the premium button cause anything to happen other than a 20-cents per gallon price increase?
