Atheists: what is your opinion of the obesity acceptance movement?

many say it is harmless but i dont see how it can be harmless when we are basically telling impressionable children that it is acceptable to become obese despite the health risks involved, this is coming from someone whose mother is quite overweight and concerned about her health.
