Tips on how to overcome pain from braces?

Hi! So i just got back from my dentist, and she had adjusted my wire and formed four loops on the archwire (which i dont know what for, do you guys know?) But it's soooo painful when i eat, talk or sometimes when i dont even speak. Can you guys suggest ways on how i can ease the pain? Ive already drank Advil but still not helping after a few hours. Thanks in advance!
