Birth control questions? Unsure if to go on it or not?

Ok, I am getting sick of my period and I am kind of uneducated on this. (I'm 15, had my period for 4 years) Anyway... • does BC stop your period or just make it lighter? • Can you first start taking it while on your period? • Do they make you put on weight or cause acne? • Any suggested brands of BC??
