How do i tell my mum i started my periods ??

Im 14 and i was on holiday when i got it. I couldnt bring myself to tell her when we were there so i decided to tell her when we got back. I got back yesterday but every time i go to tell her i just cant :/ this is my 6th day now and im sure it will stop today or tmro so i feel stupid saying it now. Im not close with my mum and i get annoyed when i just talk to her for a long time. She knows i was going to start soon cause she came in with pantie liners before i went on holiday but i didnt even look at her when she was talking cause it was to akward. I dont want her to tell people!! and i dont want her to start talking about it cause i know everything i just need stuff. But ino she will and thats why i cant tell her !! How do i tell her without her giving me a big talk ?? And what happened when you told your mum ? Thanks xxxxx
