Atropine Sulfate?

can atropine sulfate ophthalmic solution be given drops on the tongue? or is there should be a specific sublingual drops for that? I m so confused right now. A patient was given ophthalmic solution but it specifically ordered by the doctor to drop it on the mouth... pls enlighten me...
